Scan badge log-in
Feature purpose:
The scan badge login feature simplifies the login process as there's no need to receive an email and enter an OTP (one-time password) code manually.
Using a QR code can be an additional layer of security to the login process.
Working with this Feature:
The current feature is only available when you use the OTP login process. To enable it you need to go to General > Settings > OTP Authentication
Once OTP Authentication is enabled, in General > Settings enable Badge Scan Login for App
The current feature is category-based, meaning that we may limit its usage by participant/exhibitor category. By default, all categories are enabled.
Once all settings and category preferences are enabled, in the app builder > Features step you may change the button text
The color of this button is managed in the app builder > Settings step
This is an example of how this looks in the application:
Troubleshooting
The current feature allows you to log in as any participant or exhibitor, whichever category is eligible for QR login, it should be tested to ensure the feature works as intended.
Upon first login, you must allow camera access to the application.
Both external and internal QR codes are applicable for the feature.
When you use OTP Authentication, it is problematic to submit apps to stores as the OTP code may expire. Adding a QR code with instructions for Apple and Google may resolve it.
