Invoice Payment for Participants in Registration

Invoice payments can now be enabled for visitor/participant registration (legacy registration UI), not just for exhibitors. This allows participants to choose "Pay by Invoice" during registration, with profile activation gated until the organiser confirms payment.

Enabling the setting

Navigate to Admin → Event Setup → Payment → General and enable the toggle "Allow payment with Invoice in Registration" (default: OFF).

  • OFF: Registration shows card payment only (existing behaviour).

  • ON: The Summary step of registration shows a Pay by card / Pay by invoice choice, provided at least one paid item is in the basket.

How it works

When a participant chooses Pay by invoice:

  • Registration is submitted without card payment.

  • The participant's profile is not activated until the organiser confirms invoice payment.

  • Any paid sessions selected during registration are added to the participant's schedule immediately after submission — they do not need to wait for payment confirmation.

  • No special "Registration with Invoice" email is sent at submission. The participant receives the standard registration email with activation link only after the organiser confirms invoice payment.

Confirming invoice payment

Go to Admin → Event Setup → Payments → Invoice payments to confirm payment. Confirmation triggers the standard registration email with activation link to the participant.

Additional notes

  • If discounts reduce the basket total to zero, the invoice option is hidden and the flow proceeds as a free registration.

  • Turning the toggle OFF mid-event does not affect existing pending invoice registrations — it only applies to new registrations going forward.
