Overview
Organisers can clone an existing participant or exhibitor category instead of building a new category from scratch. The clone copies the source category's settings, permissions and form configuration, so the organiser only needs to rename the new category and adjust the few fields that differ.
How to clone a category
-
Go to Registration Settings.
-
Open Participants > Participant Categories or Exhibitors > Exhibitor Categories, depending on which category you want to clone.
-
Locate the source category in the list and open its settings (gear/edit icon).
-
Select the Clone action.
-
Provide a name for the new category when prompted and confirm.
The new category will appear in the list with all the source category's configuration applied. Open the new category to rename and adjust any settings that should differ from the source.
What is copied
-
Category name (you will be prompted to rename) and label/colour settings.
-
Visibility and access permissions.
-
Linked registration form, confirmation codes and email templates referenced by the category.
-
Default behaviour flags (auto-approval, default category, buyer role, etc., where applicable).
Things to check after cloning
-
Rename the cloned category so it is clearly distinguishable from the source.
-
Review any registration form linked to the category — if you want the cloned category to use its own form, create or duplicate the form and re-link it.
-
Re-check the category's pricing, payment and ticket settings if those differ from the source.
-
Confirm the cloned category is in the right display order in the category list.
