Splash screen settings
Feature purpose:
The splash screen in mobile apps serves several purposes: loading indicator, masking startup time, brand identity, and enhanced user experience.
Working with this feature:
A splash screen can be added in the App Builder > General tab
There are 2 options for splash screen type:
Image Splash screen: supported formats .jpg .png
Video splash screen: supported format .mp4
The splash screen has no file size restrictions, but for video, it is recommended to upload files up to 10 MB.
General design rules/recommendations
Use a square image/video 2208 x 2208 pixels since all device sizes are different. Avoid background images with text in the design. Static images will look different across all screen sizes, so this helps provide a cohesive experience across devices.
The safe area for all devices and device orientation (vertical or horizontal) is 998 x 998 pixels (if you upload 2208 x 2208 pixels).
Additional features
Show Splash screen for - applicable for image splash screen, indication of how much time it will be showing. Set up is in seconds.
Video splash screen does not require this setting, the full video will be shown on the device.
Splash screen background color: the background color will be used as a layer behind the splash screen and will only be visible if the splash screen is smaller than the device screen.
Once the splash screen is inserted in the app builder, you will see a preview of how it will look on different devices. Pay close attention to this screen as what you see there is what actually will be visible on different devices.
Additionally, you may adjust brightness, blur and optimize image quality.
Note: splash screen change can only be done with the app update
If your app has not been submitted, proceed with the app submission steps.

Troubleshooting:
To check how the Splash screen looks you would need to install the app beta on your device and launch it. If anything looks wrong with the splash, you may only apply changes by re-uploading the splash in settings and submitting an app update.
