Micro-community Privacy Settings
Overview
There are 3 different privacy options - public, public with approval and private/invitations only.
The privacy option can be set on the groups creation page in the Privacy Settings section.
Public
Anyone can join the group
No limitations
No approval.
After joining, the group button on the group card changes to “Visit group”.
Public with approval
To enable approval select the option “Public with approval“ during group creation
Automatic approval can be enabled and user categories and roles can be selected for automatic approval. If no categories or roles are selected then no one will be approved automatically.
After an approval request is sent, the button on the group card changes to “Cancel request“. If clicked the request will be cancelled. After the request is cancelled the user is able to submit a new request.
People pending approval are shown in the waiting list, where the group admin can approve or reject their request:
Private / Invitations only
Only members with a personal invitation can join the group.
Invitations can be sent by the admin for roles and categories:
Private groups have no button on the group card for those who are not invited.
Invited users receive a notification about being invited
