Overview
Admin Notifications now support advanced filters when choosing the recipients of a push notification. Instead of being limited to a single user category, organisers can combine multiple audience criteria so the notification only reaches the participants they want to target.
Why this matters
-
Reach a narrower audience — for example, only buyers from a specific country attending on day two.
-
Avoid sending the same push to participants who would not find it relevant, reducing notification fatigue.
-
Use the same recipient logic as campaigns and email sender, so audience definitions can be re-used and stay consistent across channels.
Where to find advanced filters
-
Go to Marketing > Admin Notifications.
-
Click Create Notification (or open an existing scheduled notification you want to edit).
-
In the Recipients section, expand the Advanced filters options.
Available filter criteria
Advanced filters can be combined to narrow the audience. Typical criteria include:
-
User category — one or more participant or exhibitor categories.
-
Role — e.g. Buyer, Speaker, Team member.
-
Country / region taken from the participant profile.
-
Registration status — registered, confirmed, checked in, etc.
-
Tags applied to the participant profile.
-
Activity / Interest categories from matchmaking.
-
App engagement — for example, participants who have or have not logged into the mobile app.
Each criterion can be combined with others. The audience preview updates to show how many participants match the current filter combination before the notification is sent.
Sending the notification
-
Define the message title, body and (optionally) a deep link or attached entity.
-
Use advanced filters to narrow the audience and confirm the recipient count in the preview.
-
Choose to send immediately or schedule for a future date and time.
-
Save and confirm. Scheduled notifications can be edited or cancelled before the send time.
Things to remember
-
Filters are AND-combined by default — a participant must match every selected criterion to receive the notification.
-
If no participants match the chosen filters, the notification cannot be sent until the criteria are relaxed.
-
Filter selections are not retro-applied to notifications already sent — they only apply to the notification being created or edited.
