Shared Settings

Shared Settings

Every native integration has its own configuration page in the admin UI, but most of them share the same core settings. The pages in this section document each shared setting in one place — so you can learn Identity Matching once, and know how it works for every integration that uses it.

Each integration's own page lists which shared settings apply to it and any integration-specific notes.

What's in this section

Setting

What it controls

Identity Matching

How the sync decides whether an incoming record already exists in ExpoPlatform — by External ID, email, or a combination. Determines whether records get updated or created as duplicates.

Category Mapping

How external registration categories translate to ExpoPlatform's own visitor or exhibitor categories. Also controls what happens to records whose category isn't mapped.

Product Categories Mapping

How external product category IDs translate to ExpoPlatform's Product Categories. Exhibitor-only.

Initial Account Status

The ExpoPlatform account status assigned to visitors when they're first added to an event through a sync (e.g. Active, Invited, Uploaded).

Registration Emails

Whether the integration sends ExpoPlatform welcome/registration emails when creating new records — configurable per entity type (visitor, exhibitor, team member).

Data Filters

Restricts a sync to only import records that match specific field values in the source data. Used to skip cancelled bookings, non-target registration types, and so on.

Team Member Matching

Adds visitors to an exhibitor's team automatically, based on a source-system field linking them to a parent exhibitor.

Deletion Condition

Configures which field in the source data signals that a record has been deleted, so the corresponding ExpoPlatform record is removed from the event.

Not every setting applies to every integration

Some settings are entity-specific (Product Categories Mapping is exhibitor-only), some are integration-specific (Data Filters only appears on integrations that need them), and some default to being off (Deletion Condition on HubSpot). Each integration's own page under Supported Integrations lists exactly which shared settings apply and any specific notes for that integration.
