Initial Account Status

Initial Account Status

Controls the ExpoPlatform account status assigned to a visitor when they're first added to an event through a sync. The status determines what the visitor can do in ExpoPlatform — whether they can log in, appear in the attendee list, or be held in a pre-approval queue.

Choose the right initial status to control exactly when a synced attendee becomes "active" in the platform, with no manual intervention needed after the sync runs.

How to configure

The setting appears as a dropdown labelled Account Status in the visitor entity configuration.

When this setting fires

Initial Account Status only applies when a visitor is being added to an event for the first time — the "add to event" path. Once a visitor is enrolled in the event, subsequent syncs don't change their account status via this setting.

This means a manager-flipped account status on an existing event-attached visitor sticks — subsequent syncs won't re-apply the initial value.

Interaction with Registration Emails

If Registration Emails are enabled and successfully sent for a new visitor, the account status is automatically updated to Invited as a side-effect of the email send. This happens after the initial account status has been applied, so the email send effectively overrides the setting for that record.

If Registration Emails are disabled, the visitor's account keeps whatever status is configured here.
