Email Builder Introduction

An email template is an area where email is formed. Blocks are placed one by one. All texts in the block can be changed there. You can also undo/redo your actions, select an image from a gallery, show a live preview, send a test email and download the template in HTML format.

The email editor can be found in all places on the platform, where emails are present. This section of the manual will explain the general concepts behind the email editor and how to use it.

The organizer can generate separate drafts for various user categories by choosing the user category in the visitor category field and then creating distinct emails for each category.

The main screen of the email editor is divided into 3 parts: header, list of available blocks and email template itself.

Email Editor

In the header, you can select the sender email, subject and other general settings.

The list contains all available blocks that can be dragged and dropped to the email template. Here you can also edit the content of the selected block (like image or button links, add header and footer, etc.) and its appearance (font, size, colour).

Email Block Settings

The e-mail templates also consist of a list of predefined system variables that are unique and can be added to the text block by clicking on the insert variable button (As shown in the below screenshot)

The predefined system variables are always present inside the curly braces { }.

Variables added to email body

After clicking on the variable tab you will be able to see the list of all the predefined variables applicable to that e-mail template.

List of variables

  • Organizers can change the positioning of these variables inside the text block

  • Additionally, organizers can also add variables which consist of links inside the "button block link field" to enhance the look and feel of your template. (As shown below)

Important note on compatibility with Outlook:

Older versions of the Outlook desktop application that are still used in various organizations often ignore standard email markup procedures and as a result, can render email in unexpected ways. If you are expecting that many of your customers will use an older version of Outlook we suggest that you use Shift+Return for inserting newlines in the email builder.

The Outlook desktop client also behaves unpredictably when very long links are inserted into the email body.  We suggest you avoid inserting long links into the email body, or, if absolutely necessary, we recommend using a link shortening tool as an alternative.
