Discount codes

Discount codes can be set up under Registration settings > Discounts

Only one discount code can be applied at a time. If multiple discount codes are entered one after another, the last one entered replaces the previously applied discount.
Each discount code can be used only once by a user.
When an admin team member adds both exhibitor items (from the exhibitor manual) and participant items (sessions and tickets) to the basket, discounts are applied only to the participant's items.

Button Add Discounts: Add new discount codes.
Search Field: Find a discount by name or description.
Items per Page: The admin can select how many discounts to display on the page.
Export: This option allows you to download a report in Excel format about all the discounts created for the event.
Choose Import File: This option lets the organizer import pre-created discounts into the system. To upload a file, first download an example file from "Download Example" to see the required columns and their names. Then, enter the data into the example file, save it, and upload it by clicking "Choose Import File" and "Upload".
Table with Discounts: This includes columns for Code, Description, Value, Expiration Date, Capacity, and Actions (Delete and Deactivate).

Elements of the Add Discount page:

Code and Description: Input fields with no limitations on the number of symbols.
Apply to Categories: Includes a tooltip stating, "Discount will be applied to the selected participant categories. If none are selected, the discount applies to all categories."
Use for Sessions: Toggle this on to enable discounts for sessions.
Session Discount Enabled For: Specify which session the discount will apply to using a selector with options like All Sessions, Custom Sessions, Custom Tracks, Custom Types, Custom Tags. If "All Sessions" is selected, no "Enabled Items" field appears.
Enabled Items: Pick the specific items whose type was selected in the "Session Discount Enabled For" field.
Type: Options are Absolute (e.g., $10, $20) and Percent (a percentage of the price).
Use for Tickets: Toggle this on to enable discounts for tickets.
Date Start and Date End: Set the availability dates for the discounts. The end date cannot be later than the last day of the event. There are no limitations for the start date.

Please note these important details about dates:

Dates are based on the event’s timezone which is determined by the event location that is added under General > General Info
- If no location has been entered on that page then GMT+0 will be used to determine date
To have a code expire at midnight of a particular date, the following day should be entered as the end date
- Example end date 8 May means that the discount will expire at midnight on 7 May

Active: Activates the discount so it can be applied if the required number of items are in the basket.
Use Limitation: Set the number of times this discount can be used by all users collectively.
