Data Matching

Data matching is part of the matchmaking process. The conditional questions which are used during registration can be mapped to the product categories. It is applicable only to visitors.

  • It consists of the local categories and a set of custom questions that you have created in the registration pipeline in order to gather information from the visitor.

  • Here you can map the answers to questions with the local category tags which are divided into interests and activities.

  • This component serves as a data feeder to the matchmaking algorithm.  This acts as a base for the user’s answers and the recommendation visible to him will be based upon his answers.

Admin Panel Setup: Data Matching

A use case for using Data Matching is when the client does not want to expose all the Interest and Product categories to all participants during registration, based on the responses to the custom questions, the interest and activity categories are automatically assigned.

In the below scenario, we have 4 co-located shows under one umbrella but each show has its own set of categories. In this case, instead of using our Interest categories system field which shows up all categories from all 4 shows, we break them down based on the show and the selection of choices decides the show type and its corresponding categories.
