Event cloning
Overview
To save time and avoid rework, the platform offers the ability to clone an existing event to allow you to use the clone as the starting point for a new event.
To clone an event, go to the events list page and click the "Clone" button for the event you want to clone.
How it Works
After clicking the button, a pop-up appears.
Check the "Exhibitors and their products" checkbox if you want exhibitors and their products to be included in the new event. Please note that products will be inactive by default in the cloned event.
When this box is checked, another 3 checkboxes will appear:
Product category relations – when checked, exhibitors will have the same Activity and Interest categories and products will have same product categories.
Organisers can also choose to copy Product Category custom filters to the new event, avoiding the need to recreate them manually.
Retain Product Status During Clone – when checked, products will have the same status as on the original event.
Exhibitors' brands remain – when checked, all the elements of the Brand will be the same in the newly cloned event.
Important note about sessions
Sessions are cloned in full with no option to opt out of specific sessions during the clone process. If you need to clone an event but not its sessions, you must manually delete unwanted sessions after cloning.
For recurring events with 200+ sessions, this can take significant time (~20 minutes). There is no bulk session delete — each must be removed individually.
Tip: Before cloning, export the exhibitor and session lists from the previous event for reference.
Next, select whether the new event is a real event or a test event. The only differences are that the external domain for the frontend is not available for a test event and that creating a new real event may impact your billing.
Post-Clone Checklist
After cloning an event, complete the following checks before the event goes live:
Review all cloned email templates — content may reference the old event name or dates
Check registration pipeline fields — some conditional fields may need reconfiguration
Verify exhibitor data — products are inactive by default
Review session settings — sponsorship settings need individual review
Check floor plan assignments — cloned exhibitors may retain old booth assignments
Update event dates and deadlines throughout all settings
Review payment/invoice settings — these may carry over from the original event
